The Thai General Insurance Association reaffirmed its success as a trade association with consistently excellent organizational management, winning 2 honorary awards: the “Outstanding Trade Association” Award and the “Outstanding Trade Association President (Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul)” Award for 2025, from the Trade Association Prestige Award 2025 competition, organized by the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, together with the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul, President of the Thai General Insurance Association, received the awards from Mr. Wuttikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, who presented the awards at the Outstanding Trade Association Award Ceremony 2025, with the Executive Committee and Association executives attending to receive the awards and celebrate, on 8 September 2025 at the Grand Riverside Ballroom, 10th Floor, Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thai General Insurance Association received the Outstanding Trade Association Award for 2025, the highest award for trade associations with excellence in every aspect, according to the management potential assessment criteria based on the Balanced Scorecard approach, covering all 4 dimensions: mission achievement, management capability, service quality, and organizational development, in the category for trade associations established for 16 years or more. The Association has previously won the Outstanding Trade Association Award in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2024, which is proof of its commitment and dedication to developing organizational management with the potential to grow strongly, being recognized by both government and private sectors as the central organization of the business sector with excellent management according to international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Outstanding Trade Association President Award 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the Outstanding Trade Association President Award 2025, presented to Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul, President of the Thai General Insurance Association (serving as President for the terms 2023-2025 and 2025-2027), he is the first President of the Association to receive this prestigious award, which honors and guarantees his ability as a modern-era leader, managing the Association with virtue, ethics, honesty, and transparency, along with a far-reaching vision capable of driving the business to grow sustainably. He is a person who has played an important role in Thailand’s non-life insurance business circle, with outstanding experience and achievements in many areas in developing and promoting the progress of Thailand’s non-life insurance industry, whether developing strength in the insurance market, building public confidence, and supporting the growth of non-life insurance companies in Thailand. He has also been a driving force in pushing the non-life insurance business to grow continuously and steadily, and a regional leader capable of competing at the international level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Incidentally, the Trade Association Prestige Award (TAP Award) competition is organized by the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, together with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, to encourage and promote trade associations to be good examples and leaders for their members in improving, developing, and raising business standards to be strong, as well as to honor trade associations that have benefited their members, society, and the country’s overall economy, and to elevate the quality standards of Thai trade associations to become the hub for developing the business sector and raising business standards to compete strongly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
