The Thai General Insurance Association, led by Mr. Juthawat Pengsri, Chairman of the Marine and Logistics Insurance Committee, led a delegation on a study visit to transport management systems, on 14 November 2025, at the D1 Terminal, Hutchison Ports Thailand, and Laem Chabang Port, Chonburi Province, to enable personnel from member companies to learn about cargo transport management processes in real operational areas, such as cargo handling procedures, the control room for the autonomous truck system, and the operation of remote-controlled container cranes, to build knowledge, skills, and experience regarding the D1 Terminal’s operations. Participants also heard an overview of Laem Chabang Port’s operating systems across various dimensions, from origin to destination, gaining an understanding of the complexity of the transport process and the challenges that may arise at each stage of cargo movement, as well as identifying risks, to build deeper understanding and apply the knowledge gained to underwriting appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Training was also provided on the importance of vessel types and classification used in transport, and Protection and Indemnity Insurance, to enable more effective application of the knowledge gained to work, in line with the current situation of the maritime transport industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
