On 16 September 2025, the Thai Insurance Business Council Committee Meeting No. 1/2025–2027 passed a resolution approving the appointment of Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul, President of the Thai General Insurance Association, as the new Chairman of the Thai Insurance Business Council for 2025–2027. The meeting also passed resolutions appointing individuals to other important positions, namely:
· Ms. Nusara (Assakul) Bunyatpiyaphot, President of the Thai Life Assurance Association, as Vice Chairwoman
· Ms. Prapaporn Likhasit, President of the Thai Life Assurance Agents and Financial Advisors Association, as Secretary-General
· Mr. Nitipong Pratyanimit, President of the Society of Actuaries of Thailand, as Deputy Secretary-General
The new Thai Insurance Business Council Committee will serve a 2-year term, with a mission to promote cooperation between organizations in the insurance business sector, develop industry standards, and sustainably elevate the stability and resilience of Thailand’s insurance system.
The Thai Insurance Business Council was established in 2006, with the main objective of serving as a platform for cooperation among organizations in the insurance business sector, comprising:
· Thai General Insurance Association
· Thai Life Assurance Association
· Thai Insurance Brokers Association
· Thai Life Assurance Agents and Financial Advisors Association
· Society of Actuaries of Thailand
With the goal of jointly driving and developing Thailand’s insurance business to be stable, strong, and able to effectively respond to changes at the national and international levels, to care for and take responsibility for the economic, social, and environmental system.
