Thai General Insurance Association Holds Merit-Making Ceremony for the 57th Anniversary of the Association’s Founding

The Thai General Insurance Association held a religious merit-making ceremony on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the Association’s founding, with the Executive Committee, executives from member companies, and Association staff joining the ceremony, at the Thai General Insurance Association Building, Sukhumvit Soi 64/1.

The Thai General Insurance Association was founded on 16 November 1967, with the role and duty of promoting and supporting the non-life insurance business as a sustainable pillar of the country’s economic and social system, operating under 4 important missions, namely: 1. Promoting a good image for the insurance business that is internationally recognized, with social and environmental responsibility; 2. Raising confidence and trust in serving as a professional risk manager for the public and private sectors; 3. Developing the capability of personnel in the insurance business to be professionals who adhere to principles of good governance; 4. Strengthening an insurance ecosystem that supports business operations to grow steadily and stably.

In addition, the Association also plays an important role in promoting knowledge and understanding of non-life insurance, both in academic terms and through activities beneficial to the insurance business and society, including coordinating cooperation with various government agencies, under the administration of the Association’s 21-member Executive Committee, with cooperation and unity from member companies in driving Thailand’s non-life insurance business, and building solidarity and stability for the Association continuously. The Association currently has a total of 48 member companies licensed to operate non-life insurance business.
