Thai General Insurance Association Joins Press Conference Launching the “Worry-Free Restaurants, Insured for Protection” Project

Dr. Pongpanu Damrongsiri, Executive Director, Thai General Insurance Association, joined the press conference launching the “Worry-Free Restaurants, Insured for Protection” project, organized by the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), together with the Thai General Insurance Association and the Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce, to encourage restaurant operators to systematically manage risk through insurance. Mr. Chuchat Pramoolpol, Secretary-General of the OIC, presided over the ceremony and presented emblem signs to pilot restaurants in Khon Kaen Province, an important economic city of the Northeastern region and an international Gastronomic Destination.

The project also featured Business Matching to connect restaurant operators with leading insurance companies, such as Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited, Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited, and Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited, which received a positive response from restaurants in the area, with 30 operators joining the project by purchasing third-party liability insurance, covering a variety of business types, whether general restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars, or franchise restaurants, with plans to expand to other provinces such as Chiang Mai, Phuket, Chonburi, and Bangkok, on Tuesday, 2 July 2025, at Kaen Restaurant, Khon Kaen Province.
