Mr. Sukthep Chansrichawala, Vice President of the Association, Thai General Insurance Association, together with the Executive Committee and the Executive Director of the Association, welcomed Mr. Hitesh Kotak, Regional Chief Executive APA 1 (Japan, India, South Korea & Southeast Asia), and Mr. Michael Hauer, Managing Director & Head of P&C, Southeast Asia, together with the team from Munich Re Representative Thailand, to exchange information and introduce the roles and responsibilities of each organization, as well as discuss the current situation of the insurance and reinsurance business, particularly regarding matters related to recent earthquake events, and trends in the changing direction of catastrophe insurance underwriting policy in Thailand.
In addition, Munich Re also provided in-depth recommendations on earthquake risk management, catastrophe insurance, and approaches for electric vehicle insurance, all of which are issues consistent with the Association’s direction in promoting sustainable cooperation between the insurance business sector and international partners. This discussion marks another important step in strengthening cooperation and exchanging knowledge between the Thai General Insurance Association and Munich Re, which will benefit the development of Thailand’s insurance market in the future.
