The Thai General Insurance Association attended and supported the international academic conference “21st Asia Nat CAT and Climate Change Summit,” organized by Asia Insurance Review (AIR), a leading insurance media outlet in the Asia region, honored by Mr. John Spence, Managing Director of AIR, who delivered opening remarks, along with lectures and panel discussions by international executives in the insurance and reinsurance business.
Dr. Pongpanu Damrongsiri, Executive Director, Thai General Insurance Association, was invited as a special guest speaker on “Thailand’s Earthquake Impacts on the Insurance Sector: Immediate Crisis Response and Long-Term Preparedness,” presenting the impact of the earthquake on Thailand’s insurance business, short-term crisis response, and long-term preparedness, which attracted widespread interest from conference attendees.
This conference was an important platform for the insurance industry to exchange knowledge, experience, and risk management approaches for Natural Catastrophe and Climate Change, together with insurance companies, reinsurance companies, regulatory agencies, and international experts, held during 25–26 August 2025 at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok.
