Thai General Insurance Association Partners with the Survey Association of Thailand, Signs MOU to Elevate Loss Adjuster Practice Standards to Professional Level

On 14 October 2025, the Thai General Insurance Association and the Survey Association of Thailand held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on “Cooperation to Establish Standard Operating Practices for Loss Adjusters of Survey Companies,” to jointly elevate the quality and potential of loss adjusters in Thailand, in line with professional standards and effectively responding to the needs of today’s motor insurance system. The signing was honored by Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul, President of the Thai General Insurance Association, and Mr. Chamnan Chatpojana, President of the Survey Association of Thailand, who signed as representatives of both associations, with Mr. Seri Kawinrachatarot, Chairman of the Motor Insurance Committee, Thai General Insurance Association, and Mr. Chamnong Singha, Chairman of the Damage Inspection Professionals Club, signing as witnesses, at the Thai General Insurance Association.

Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul, President of the Thai General Insurance Association, said the signing of this memorandum of understanding (MOU) on “Cooperation to Establish Standard Operating Practices for Loss Adjusters of Survey Companies” aims to develop the skills, knowledge, and understanding of the motor insurance system for loss adjusters at survey companies that are members of the Survey Association of Thailand, as well as strengthen accident investigation skills to meet professional standards, elevate service to the public, and support the future registration of accident investigators, which will affect the credibility and positive image of survey companies and the motor insurance business overall.

Under this cooperation, the Thai General Insurance Association, through the Motor Insurance Committee and the Motor Claims Club, will develop a training curriculum covering the motor insurance system, information technology, personality development, and legal knowledge, to be delivered to loss adjusters of Survey Association of Thailand member companies, with the aim of enabling them to apply the knowledge gained to accident investigation work accurately, clearly, and consistently nationwide.

At the same time, both associations are committed to regularly exchanging information related to motor insurance, so that members of both organizations receive up-to-date, complete, and maximally beneficial information, including jointly disseminating accurate insurance knowledge to the public and policyholders, to build understanding of the roles and procedures to follow when an accident occurs, as well as the benefits they are entitled to under their policy. This signing therefore represents another important step in driving Thailand’s motor insurance industry forward with clear, transparent, and fair standards, which will increase the capability of loss adjusters and enable them to provide professional service to the public.

This memorandum of understanding is therefore not only cooperation between the two associations, but also reflects the intent to build a strong and credible motor insurance system at the national level. Policyholders and the public will directly benefit from loss adjusters having better knowledge, capability, and service standards, which will help make the claims investigation and consideration process faster, more accurate, and fairer, increasing confidence in having insurance and sustainably strengthening trust in Thailand’s insurance system.
