The Marine and Logistics Insurance Committee held a lecture on “Knowledge Sharing Session on Weather Intelligence for the Insurance Industry,” to learn important information related to the insurance industry across multiple dimensions from Weathernews Inc. (Thailand), a leading global organization in weather intelligence that plays an important role in supporting weather and natural disaster risk management for businesses worldwide, particularly in the transport, shipping, aviation, and insurance sectors. Participants gained useful perspectives on forecasting systems and advance disaster warnings for the insurance sector in planning and setting shipping and flight routes, as well as useful perspectives for both the marine and logistics insurance business, including ESG issues and emerging climate risks, which are important factors that the insurance industry needs to monitor closely. Attendees included the Marine and Logistics Insurance Committee and the Marine and Logistics Insurance Club, with the lecture delivered by speakers from Weathernews Inc. (WNI), on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, from 10:00–11:30.
