Dr. Pongpanu Damrongsiri, Executive Director of the Thai General Insurance Association, was invited to speak at the regional forum “From Policy to Capital: Scaling Blended Finance for Inclusive Climate Action,” organized by UNDP and UNCDF with support from Sida, the Government of Sweden, and FCDO, the Government of the United Kingdom. On the panel “De-risking Adaptation and Resilience Investments: The Role of Insurance and Currency Risk Solutions,” Dr. Pongpanu exchanged views on risk management, emphasizing the role of insurance in supporting climate adaptation investment through insurance innovations such as parametric insurance, centralized climate risk databases, and collaboration between the public sector and the insurance industry.
Participation in this forum reflects the Association’s proactive role in driving Thailand’s financial and insurance sector toward sustainable climate resilience, held on 18 June 2026 at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok.
